OpenPOWER ISA MicroWatt hosted on Supercomputing Facility at C-DAC Bangalore

The OpenPOWER ISA-based MicroWatt is a lightweight, open-source processor designed for educational and research purposes, based on the community-driven OpenPOWER architecture. MicroWatt offers a simple yet powerful implementation that can be run on various FPGA platforms.

ChipIN Centre at C-DAC Bangalore has enabled access to a pre-configured build environment at the PARAM Utkarsh Supercomputing Facility. The setup includes all necessary dependencies, such as build tools, Git for repository access, the GHDL VHDL simulator, the GNAT Ada compiler, and ppc64le (64-bit PowerPC Little Endian) cross-compilers. This enables users to develop and build code for OpenPOWER ISA processor in an x86-based environment. This optimized setup ensures that users can focus on research and development without worrying about complex installation or configuration issues.
